Jonathan Rhys Meyers Hospitalized After Reported Suicide Attempt
The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 33, was rushed to the hospital after a reported suicide attempt this morning, according to The Sun.
The British actor is said to have taken a bottle full of pills at his $6 million mansion Tuesday night before calling paramedics who found him slumped on the floor upon answering his emergency call.
Paramedics reportedly had to call the police after Meyers refused treatment for more than 30 minutes. The Sun quotes a source as saying, "This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life." Meyers, who has battled a drinking problem for years, was eventually taken to a hospital near his Central London home. Upon his release he told the paper, when asked how he was doing: "No comment."
Earlier this month the actor checked into a give-star rehabilitation center in South Africa -- his fifth stint in rehab.
